Hi All,
Forgive me if this has been covered before, I did a search to check.
I have heard many people asking "so if the earth is flat, why is the sun and the moon round"? We are all waking up to the fact that the earth is flat, is there a possibility that these lights in the sky can be flat too or does it make more sense that they are round? Would GOD want a heat source reflecting heat upwards to the firmament?
Circular is a more accurate word to use than round. Isaiah 40:22 He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth; its dwellers are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.
It is interesting that in Genesis chapter 1, our Creator is noted as saying 'Let there be light" on the 1st day, and after that commanding the earth to bring forth vegetation on the 3rd day of creation, and after that on the 4th day, He created the 'lights in the vault of the sky", so something was occurring prior to the sun providing what science tells us about photosynthesis.
The Apostle John tells us in 1 John 1:5 that "And this is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you: God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all", and we are also told in Revelation 21:23 "And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, because the glory of God illuminates the city, and the Lamb is its lamp"
So with this in mind, should we consider the light that rules the day...the sun is to illuminate both the earth and sky to bring an abundance of light, reflecting off the firmament/expanse, and the "lesser light" to rule the night...both of which are "to distinguish between the day and the night, and let them be signs to mark the seasons and days and years"
I'm not sure of the shape. May never know. But I can create the same "round" effect as the moon with the INSIDE of a bowl, and a flashlight. I find this same method allows me to make the moon phases more accurately than I could with a convex/ball surface. Try it out. Just use any bowl that is not clear/see-through. Hold the bowl out in front of you, with the inside of the bowl fscing towards you, then shine the flashlight in from an angle at the side of the bowl, and slightly in front of it, and you'll see what I'm talking about. I know this doesn't answer your question, but perhaps it will help with the path to the truth. Good luck, and report back here if you find anything out.
