Some Christians I've talked to use what I call "God thinks you're dumb" view. They say God didn't want to explain all the complexities to dumb humans, so while the earth is supposely moving and not the sun, God explains it to us like the sun is moving b/c that's what we see, and we're too dumb to understand it. Now with SCIENCE we're so smart so we know better.
'So the sun stood still and the moon stopped until the nation took vengeance upon its enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Jashar? “So the sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day.” --Joshua 10:13
Regarding the verse above, forget about asking someone who dismisses the Bible to comment, but rather ask someone who is, or claims to be a Christian if they believe God's Word is true, and then if so, ask them to explain how that story is possible in the heliocentric model, and to explain it without using a cop out statement like 'God can do anything'....and why they do not comprehend what would occur if the earth stopped rotating 1040ish MPH....the reality is all of the oceans would wash over the dry lands and cause an extinction level event....unless of course, the earth does not rotate.
One need not really discuss any other verses until this one is resolved. I have found those who name the name of Christ have no answers, and cannot escape the mental programming perpetrated upon them by the very entities who hate their Creator....NASA, and the religion of scientism.
I like asking other Christians the same thing. I add another humbling element though. Ask the person if they think they are wiser than Josh, abs also ask them if they beleive they have a better relationship with God than Josh did.
I find that most of these people who disregard the bible for allegory when it suits them best. They don't realize that by applying modern "science" to the bible, that they all too often are calling honorable, and much nobler figures than ourselves, fools. So ask them if they think Joshua was a fool. Or if Moses didn't know what he was taking about when he recorded the words of Genesis. The authors of the Bible were not fools.

Except it's not science, it's scientism.

1 Chronicles 16:30 could be one.
Psalm 93:1, and Psalm 104:5 could be good examples.
Job 38:4-6
Ecclesiastes 1:5 talks about the movement of the Sun, which could imply a stationary earth.
